Jerome P. "Jerry" Hall

1937-2014 SANDGATE Jerome P. "Jerry" Hall, 77 a resident of Sandgate died unexpectedly Saturday evening March 29, 2014 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. The son of Robert and Helen (Murphy) Hall, Jerry was born in Meriden, Conn., on March 16, 1937. He grew up in Wallingford, Ct where he graduated from Lyman Hall High School, he then attended The University of Vermont graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960 in Korea and the United States. Jerry had been an Account Executive with AT&T for 20 years in the Hartford, Conn., and Westboro, Mass., areas, he then relocated to the Baltimore, Md., area where he worked as a Project Manager for the Social Security Administration, retiring after 15 years. Jerry and his wife, Pat spent their last 9 years in Sandgate where they both became involved in the community. Jerry was in his second term as serving as Chairman of the Selectboard, a member of the American Legion Post 69 and had formed and facilitated the group - Prostate Support Allies (PSA) in the Bennington area. Jerry enjoyed the out doors in particular hunting and fishing. He was a gentleman farmer on his property and was affectionately known as "Farmer Grandpa" to his 12 grandchildren. He was a man who was always smiling and enjoyed talking to everyone. He leaves his wife Patricia (Miner) Hall whom he married October 20, 1984 in Ellicott City, Md., sons Michael Hall of Franklin, Mass., Patrick Hall of New Windsor, Md., and Daniel Hall of Ashburnham, Mass., daughters Katie Harrison-Hall of Arlington, MA, Margaret Kinsman of Westboro, Mass., and Jennifer Cafarella of Winchester, Mass., brother Robert Hall of Southbury, Conn., 12 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a close network of friends in the Sandgate area . FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 5 at 11am at the Sandgate Methodist Church with Reverend Keith Mann officiating. Friends may call at the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7pm when the family will be present.
