Joan Somers Miller Obituary
Joan Somers Miller, a resident of Little Fox Lane, Southbury, CT passed away on March 15, 2017 at her home with her caring daughter Tracy by her side.

Joan was born in Waterbury CT on December 29, 1942, the daughter of Louis and Ella Somers. The family moved to Woodbury CT in the early 1950s and Joan attended school there and eventually graduated high school from Oak Grove School in Vassalboro, Maine.

In June, 1963 she wed Robert Geiger Jr. and they lived in Woodbury CT for many years, where their two children were born.

After divorcing, Joan moved to Manchester VT where she then married Brian D. Somers. After a short marriage, Joan was again divorced. Eventually she moved to back to Connecticut, and in 1999 she married an old childhood friend, Russell Miller and they moved to Southbury, CT. Russell predeceased Joan on December 29, 2016.

Joan loved music and was always the " life of the party" as demonstrated by her many sequined wardrobe items. She loved to play cards and board games and kept every gathering upbeat and interesting. She also loved bowling and caring for her 4 cats. She was greatly loved by her 3 nephews who she was equally fond of. She will also be very much missed by all her many friends.

She is survived by her children, Robert J. Geiger III of Hollywood FL and Tracy Somers (Geiger) Corson of Southbury, CT., a brother Robert L Somers and best friend and Sister In Law, Jo-Ann Somers of Dorset, VT. She is also survived by step daughters, Donna (Miller) Metcalf of Piermont NY, Melanie (Miller) D' Elia of Southbury CT, Monica (Miller) Morais of Washingtonville NY and Sonya (Miller) Fleming of Southbury CT.

SERVICES: There will be a grave side service on Saturday April 8, 2017 at 11:AM at the New North Cemetery in Woodbury CT, followed by a short celebration of life at a location to be announced.
