Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Mr. John E. Thompson, 45, a former resident of Bennington and St. Albans, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Monroe Regional Hospital in Ocala, Fla.

Born in Burlington May 23, 1959, he was the son of Rodney Wisten and Jane Mae (Thompson) Parent. He received his education in Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

In earlier years, John was employed as a taxi driver for Red Top Taxi Service.

He enjoyed the outdoors, television and music. He was also a Special Olympian and loved Elvis and Indian artifacts.

Survivors include three daughters, Crystal Washington of Bennington and Harriet and Margo Thompson; his mother, Jane Mae Parent of Bennington; two brothers, Lee Thompson of Bennington and David Thompson of Shaftsbury; a sister, Harriet Lincoln of Roswell, N.M.; an aunt, Janet White of Shaftsbury; an uncle, Earl Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service celebrating the life of John E. Thompson will be held at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home at a time to be announced.
