Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- John Francis Bromirski, 70, former resident of Apple Hill Road, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Hospice House in Monroe, N.C., surrounded by his loving family, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., on March 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Anthony and Amelia Bromirski. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and served four years in the Navy. John worked for the Grand Union Company loyally for 45 years and retired in 1998.

He married Martha Robinson Bromirski Oct. 17, 1964, at Sacred Heart Church. A resident of Bennington since 1964, he recently relocated to North Carolina in October 2005 to be closer to his family. John enjoyed spending much of his time outdoors with his faithful companions, Barney and Baxter. His favorite hobbies included fishing, hunting and golfing with his close buddies.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann; a daughter, Ann Marie and husband, William Camp, of Matthews, N.C.; a son, John Gary Bromirski and wife, Ashley, of Raleigh, N.C.; a grandson, Tyler John Camp; a brother, Anthony Bromirski of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; a sister, Jo-Ann Cottrell of Scotia, N.Y.; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Bromirski.

A prayer service will be held on Thursday morning, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., followed by a Mass of resurrection at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church.

Interment will follow in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.

John’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
