MANCHESTER -- John Lombardy, 64, a lifelong resident of Manchester, died suddenly Wednesday night, March 30, 2005, at his Manchester residence. He was, born May 17, 1940, the son of the late Anthony and Clara (Hubbard) Lombardy. He was educated in Manchester schools.

Following high school, John worked for many years with his father at Lombardy Lawn and Garden. Years later, John worked at Factory Point Bank until he retired for health reasons. He was a past member of the Manchester Eagles Club and the Manchester Lions. John was an avid sports fan. He followed Burr and Burton basketball and was a big fan of the New York Yankees.

He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Keough of Manchester and Betty Ann Bailey of Framingham, Mass.; his nephews, Tony Keough of Rutland and Dominic Keough of Boston; and his niece, Hilary Patelis of Framingham.

A private service of committal will take place in the Lombardy family plot in Dellwood cemetery in Manchester Village. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
