1968 - 2014 DORSET John William Kardas, IV, 46, a resident of Dusty Hollow Lane, passed away Wednesday Oct. 8, at his home. John was born in Bennington on Feb. 15, 1968, the son of John W. and Frances (Bania) Kardas, III. He attended Dorset schools and graduated from Burr & Burton High School. John worked for Aubuchon Hardware for over fifteen years and worked for Elex Johnson & Son Property Maintenance for over twenty years. John loved hiking and liked to fish. He enjoyed golfing in his earlier years and was an excellent writer and a great artist. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan, was a huge fan of Syracuse University Athletics and loved following the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed listening to various types of music and spending time with his family and friends. John is survived by his parents, John W. and Frances Kardas, III of Dorset; sons,Garrett Tyler Allen and Troy Adam Kardas both of Manchester Center; his daughter, Meghan Marie Kardas of Manchester Center; brothers, Matthew S. Kardas of Middlebury, and Mark Andrew Kardas of Dorset; his sister, Shannon Johnston and her husband, Keith, of Hinesburg; niece, Kate Johnston; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Monday Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Manchester. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Jerome's Cemetery in Dorset. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in John's memory may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center Patient Resource Fund, c/o Brewster & Shea Funeral Service P.O.
