John Howard Kauffman "Jack" SANDGATE, VT John Howard Kauffman, 94, passed away on June 29, 2012 after a brief illness. Many trips to Vermont visiting his brother Sanford led Jack to his purchase of a camp in Sandgate. There he met Jean Eisenhart, his partner of 21 years. During this time, they shared their love of farming and becoming a part of the Sandgate community. He was predeceased by his siblings: Frances Hicks, Sanford Bogert Kauffman, William Kauffman Jr, Maurice Kauffman, Marjory Smith, and Edwin Everett Kauffman.
