Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mr. John W. Gygax were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday, Nov. 22, with the Rev. Michael Demasi officiating.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Demasi offering the committal prayers. Military honors were offered to the World War II veteran. Taps were sounded by Kenn Ash. The flag was folded by Joseph Krawczyk and Ralph Brown and presented to his wife Jane Gygax. Bearers were Charles Becker, Michael McGarrahan, Lawrence Shutts and Alexander Mahar.

Mr. John W. Gygax, a longtime resident of Maple Street, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in Bennington following a long illness.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St.
