Jonathan D. Peat Obituary
Jonathan D. Peat, age 41, died on September 20, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center due to complications from a traumatic brain injury he sustained on September 17.

He was a lifelong resident of Bennington, Vermont and was born on April 5, 1976. John was the co-owner of a successful auto body repair shop, LLQ Body & Frame. He was a longtime and faithful employee of the Peat family business, C.L. White Glass.

Jon was a wonderful and loving father, partner, son, brother in law and a great friend to many in the Bennington area. He was always available to friends who needed him for a smile, encouragement and support. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time at his camp on Sucker Pond, snowboarding the peaks of the northeast, and hunting the woods of southern Vermont. He loved his dogs Ike and Millie. He was a member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks # 567.

Jon's hard work ethic, hearty laugh and playful nature earned him admiration of many in his community. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Jon is survived by his longtime love and soulmate, Abbie Thurber, a beautiful daughter Quinn, his parents Bill and Linda, his brother Brian and sister in law Mema all of Bennington; his sister Kristen and brother in law David MacLean and nieces Sadie, Ellen and Piper from Henniker, NH, his extended family, Tom and Teri Haskins, Jimmy Thurber and Wendy Chenaille, Tera, Jason, Ashley, Taylor, Kendra, Jacoby and Kali and the extended relatives of the Peat and Smachetti families and Grandma Mary Jane.
