Joseph J. Budziszewski 1926-2011 BENNINGTON Joseph J. Budziszewski, formerly of Gage Street in Bennington, passed away Thursday August 25, 2011 at the Vermont Veterans Home. Joe was born in Stamford, Conn., on March 19, 1926. His parents came to the United States, directly from Poland. As a child growing up he spent many years fishing Long Island Sound, his love for fishing was never ending. He joined the United States Navy in 1946 and served in Okinawa. Joe retired in the 1990's from the Mt. Anthony Country Club, where he worked many years as a groundskeeper. After retiring he spent most everyday on Barbers Pond fishing. He was an avid fisherman. During his years at the Vermont Veterans Home he spent many an afternoon at the grounds trout pond. He taught his eleven year old friend Mariah how to fish and also fly fish. He was so delighted when she won one of their fishing derbies for the biggest trout. His other love in life was cooking and produced some of the best Polish food to touch one's taste buds. Joe will be sadly missed by his closest friends Priscilla, Tierry and Miss Mariah. At Joe's request there will be no funeral service.
