Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Joseph Marrin Byron, 93, a former resident of Ocala, Fla., for many years, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007. He was 93 and had suffered with lung cancer. He was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, moved to Staten Island, N.Y. in 1918 and married his wife, Betty (Elizabeth) in 1939. They lived in many states including Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio then retired to Ocala, Fla.

They moved to Vermont in 2002 and lived with their daughter, Debra Wright, in Pownal until his demise. His wife Betty died in Bennington in 2003.

Joseph enjoyed writing poetry. He will be remembered by his many friends in both Vermont and Florida, and especially his companion, Amy Jones.

He is survived by four children, Paul Byron of Farmington, N.M., Thomas Byron, Marietta, Ga., Laura White of San Diego, Calif., and Debra Wright of Pownal; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by a son, Ricky, 15, and a daughter, Judy, 62.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service at the request of the deceased.
