BENNINGTON -- Joseph Pierre “Pete” LaFlamme, 96, a former resident of Park Street, Bennington, died Monday, April 5, 2004 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation.
Born in St. Lazare, Que., Canada August 20, 1906, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Marie (Marceau) LaFlamme. He received his education in Quebec.

Mr. LaFlamme married the former Arthemise Lapierre at St. Anne’s Church in Waterbury, Conn. on October 7, 1944. Mrs. LaFlamme died June 9, 1996.

In earlier years Pete was employed by the Town of Bennington highway department. He later worked at the former BenMont Paper Company for 20 years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bennington for 75 years and a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church in Bennington.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mr. LaFlamme was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Pinsonneault and Laura Riley, and a brother, Theophile LaFlamme.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Thursday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7to 9 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
