Judy Ann Sherman 1944 - 2008 SUNDERLAND Judy Ann Sherman, 64, of North Road passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 7, 2008, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Born in Sunderland on Aug. 17, 1944, the daughter of Bernard and Helen Hall Cross, Judy attended the one-room school house in Sunderland, and Arlington High School. Judy worked for the Hale Company for over 20 years, and for Cullinan's Store in Arlington in the deli department. Judy enjoyed watching birds, listening to country music and reading all of Stephen King's novels. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR and followed her grandchildren in all of their sporting events. She loved the outdoors, especially flowers, plants and the trees around her home. Judy attended the Federated Church of East Arlington and was a former member of the American Legion Post 69 Auxiliary in Arlington. She leaves her husband Ken Sherman, whom she married March 11, 1961, at the Federated Church of East Arlington; her sons, Ken Sherman, Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Bennington, Glenn Sherman and his wife, Laurie, of Arlington and Michael Sherman and his wife, Aimee, of Sunderland; her daughter, Sherry Lynn Hayes and husband, Edward, of Arlington; her brothers, George and Raymond Cross of Massachusetts, Edward Cross of Arlington, Bernard Cross of Manchester, and Anthony Cross of Manchester, N.H.; her sisters, Bernice Gaudette and Dianne Jennings of Arlington, Claudia Christman and Sharon Allaire of Sunderland, and Mary Mckeighan of Shaftsbury, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold, Thomas and Patrick Cross. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Judy Ann Sherman will be held Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME, Historic Route 7A, Arlington. The Rev. Bill Elwell will conduct the service. Interment will be announced at a later date. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
