SALEM, N.Y. -- Judy Alice Baker Lundgren, 60, of Salem, passed away at home Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, after a three-year battle with breast cancer.

Born in the Glens Falls Hospital on Dec. 24, 1946, she was the daughter of Louise Reynolds Baker and the late Carson Baker.

Judy graduated from Corinth High School in 1964 and completed an associate’s degree from Adirondack Community College in 1967.

Judy married John Lundgren on Jan. 20, 1967. She completed her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance at Florida Atlantic University in 1980. While in Florida, Judy performed frequently.

Judy became an adjunct vocal performance teacher in Adirondack Community College where she taught for 28 years. Judy also taught voice lessons privately at home.

She served as choir director for 10 years at the First United Presbyterian Church of Salem, performed in local theater, and was an active volunteer for many community groups. She enjoyed tennis, camping, hiking, traveling, reading, and recently took up painting. She treasured trips to the Caribbean with her husband and loved spending time with her daughters and her four granddaughters.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, John Lundgren; her mother, Louise Reynolds Baker Stone; her two daughters, Jeanna Lundgren Beagle (husband Chuck) of Salem, and Jeannette Lundgren Guillemin (husband Robert) of Brookline, Mass., and four granddaughters. A granddaughter, Jade Beagle died at birth in 2004.

Services will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church of Salem, 13 West Broadway in Salem, on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at 12 p.m. Any present or past students of Judy are invited to sing at her service. Call Leslie Rizzo at 854-3493.
