Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Julia Canfield were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, where the Mass of Resurrection was offered by the Rev. James Preskenis, csc pastor. A prayer service at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home preceded the Mass.

Serving as acolytes were Len Anzivino, Barth Vander Els and Gerald McMurray.

The organist was Donald McMahon and the soloist was Doris Alderman. Musical selections offered during the mass were “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” “The Supper of the Lord,” “Ave Maria” and “On Eagles Wings.”

The casket pall was placed by Julia’s daughter, Mary Lou Albert, a son-in-law, Gerald Albert and Julia’s grandchildren, Michael Albert, Richard Albert, Jeremy Albert, Kim Albert and Ellen Albert. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Mary Lou Albert.

The Scriptural readings were offered by a granddaughter-in-law Julie Albert and a granddaughter Ellen Albert.

The offertory gifts were presented by a grandson, Michael Albert and his wife, Kim, and Julia’s great-grandson, Rembert Albert.

Serving as pall bearers were three grandsons, Michael, Richard and Jeremy Albert and a nephew, James Early.

The burial took place in the family lot in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in East Greenbush, N.Y., where the committal prayers were offered.

Julia Canfield a resident of Stark Street, Bennington, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at her residence. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
