Julia F. Dwyer 1930-2011 Julia F. Dwyer, 81 a resident of Brookside Apartments died unexpectedly Monday morning August 8, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Dwyer was born in North Adams, Mass., on July 1, 1930, she was the daughter of Harry and Beatrice Murray Walden, she grew up in North Adams where she attended local schools. Her husband, Edward Dwyer, whom she married on March 6, 1948 in North Adams died June 19, 1999. Mrs. Dwyer was employed at the former Pownal Tanning Company for 20 years and Bennington Potters from which she retired. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, in her leisure time, she enjoyed collecting dolls, rooster items, Native American Indian pictures and playing Bingo, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Julie Ann and husband George Gates of Bennington, Kathleen Marie and husband Art Lockwood of West Dover and Tammy Lynn and husband Michael Tanguay of East Dover, a sister Betty Lauzon of North Adams, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings Bernice Walker, Beatrice Schmidt, Russell Moon, Marshall Moon, Harry Walden Jr. and William Walden. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church on Thursday August 11 at 10 a.m., a prayer service will precede the funeral mass at 9:40 a.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home. Private burial will take place in the Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be present, the Vigil Service will be held during calling hours. Should friends desire, memorial gifts may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Cancer Center-Patient Fund in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
