BENNINGTON -- Julia H. Baker, 81, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, 2004 at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation where she had resided for the past several years.

Mrs. Baker was a lifelong resident of Bennington, born here on Dec. 22, 1922. She was the daughter of the late John H. and Agnes (Baker) Harrington and received education in local schools. She was married to Joseph Baker and for many years they had made their home on Cross Street. Mr. Baker died several years ago. Mrs. Baker led a quiet life enjoying the company of her pet dog, in earlier years she liked to spend time going camping throughout the area and she was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. She leaves her nieces, nephews, two great-nieces and a great-nephew. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother Quincy Harrington, who died Jan. 29, 1973.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bennington, officiating. Burial will take place in the Baker family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
