NORWICH, Conn. -- Juliette V. Ilewicz, 86, of Erin Drive, Plainfield, died Sunday evening at William W. Backus Hospital, Norwich, after a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 2, 1918 in Plainfield, daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Baril) Lavallee Sr. and has been a lifelong residence of the community.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Albert A. Mott Sr.

On May 1, 1954 she was married to Edward Ilewicz, who died Oct. 26, 1999. Mrs. Ilewicz was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She attended St. John the Apostle Church. She also enjoyed traveling with her late husband Edward to Vermont. They both enjoyed exploring the countryside here in Vermont and traveled on many dirt roads. Both enjoyed these trips together to Bennington and they also stopped to visit family on these trips.

She lived at her home that she shared with her late husband until her death.

She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert A. Mott Jr. and Roberta Mott of Shaftsbury, Vt.; Edward L. Ilewicz and Paula Ilewicz of Sterling; three grandchildren, Diana Mott-Sharp and her husband Darren Sharp of North Bennington, Vt.; Kristie Ilewicz of California and Ashlee Ilewicz of Connecticut; two great-grandchildren, Amy Billings of Bennington, Vt.; Jennifer Sharp of Bennington. Also one great-great grandchild, Tyler Billings of Bennington.

She was predeceased by a son, Theodore Mott; four brothers, Rodolphe (Rudy) Lavallee, Clovis (Joe) Lavallee, Charles Lavallee and Azellus (Pete) Lavallee.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Road, Plainfield. The funeral will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. also at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Plainfield.
