June Eleanor White 1922-2011 BENNINGTON, VT June Eleanor White, 88, a resident of Park Street in Bennington, passed away Wednesday afternoon February 16, 2011 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington surrounded by her family. June was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 9, 1922 the daughter of Charles and Klara (Heckler) Glasser. She attended various Long Island schools and Babylon High School. June worked for the telephone company for many years as an operator on Long Island and upon moving to Vermont enjoyed volunteering at the Shaftsbury Town Offices and did so for twenty-five years. June was a member of R.S.V.P. and while living in Arlington attended the Federated Church of East Arlington. June loved communicating, especially through letter writing, enjoyed her home, cooking and spending time with her family. June married Warren White on June 8, 1943 in Long Island, N.Y. Mr. White passed away March 8, 1997. June is survived by her son Donald White of Bennington, Vt., her brother Robert Glasser of Oakdale, Long Island, her grandchildren Charles White, Elizabeth Hearon, Leanne Douglass, Michelle Russell and Donna Walden and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Robert White who died November 11, 1977. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for June will be held Friday evening February 18, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vermont. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Friday February 18, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m., two hours prior to the service when the family will be in attendance.
