1978 - 2015 BENNINGTON Kaitlin D. Mclellan, 36, a resident of Gage St. died unexpectedly Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Bennington, VT on August 22, 1978. She was the daughter of Dr. John McLellan and Dianne (Giles) Mclellan. Kate received her education in Bennington and was a 1996 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. She and Bradley Babson were married on January 3, 2003 in Bennington. Kaitlin had previously been employed at the Weston Hadden Convalescent Center and most recently was employed as a Branch Manager at Peoples United Bank in Bennington. She was a former member of the Bennington Rotary Club. Kaitlin had an inspiring love of life. She will be remembered for her deep kindness, her sense of justice, her sharp intellect, and her dignity and grace in the face of medical adversity. Above all, she will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to and love of her husband and their daughters, and the great joy and laughter she brought to each and every member of her family. Survivors include her husband, Bradley Babson and their children, Bryn and Willa Babson of Bennington, her parents, Dr. John and Dianne McLellan of Bennington; her siblings, nieces and nephews, Themarge (McLellan), John, Isabelle and Violet Small of Shaftsbury, Stephanie (McLellan), Brian, Maddie, and Lilly Gasser of Stamford, CT; John, Kate (Reardon), Alexandra, John, Eleanor and Charles McLellan of Somers, CT and David and Marley McLellan of Bennington, and Nora Foy of Hoosick Falls, NY. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate Kait's life will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Kaitlin D. McLellan may be made to the Foundation or the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home.
