BENNINGTON -- Karen E. Crawford, 56, a resident of Saunders Drive, Bennington, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born in Bennington, January 17, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Baker) Gauthier. Karen received her education in Bennington where she attended Bennington Catholic High School and graduated in 1969 from Mount Anthony Union High School.

She married John F. Crawford at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Sept. 9, 1972.

Karen was employed at Bennington Elementary School as the registrar.

She was a member of the Mount Anthony Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf. She also enjoyed crafts and was well known for her angel pins. Her home, family and grandson Noah were her main interest.

Survivors include her husband, John F. Crawford, of Bennington; two sons, Aaron Crawford and his wife, Sonya, of Bennington, and Joshua Crawford, and his fiance, Charlene Pleasant, of Bennington; three grandchildren, Noah Crawford, Zachary Martin and Brianna Pleasant all of Bennington; three brothers and their spouses, Dennis and Donna Gauthier of Bennington, Jeffrey and Cynthia Gauthier of Bennington and Alan and Mariko Gauthier of Glendora, Calif; her father-in-law and mother-in-law John A. and Barbara Crawford of Bennington; a brother-in-law and his wife Kim and Judy Crawford of Saratoga, N.Y., a sister-in law-Debbie Crawford of Saratoga, N.Y., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday Aug. 28, 2007, at 11 a.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday Aug. 27, 2007, from 5 to 8 p.m.
