Katherine E. McEckron "Kitty" Leary

1932-2014 EAST DORSET Katherine E. McKeckron (Kitty) Leary, 81, a resident of East Dorset, passed away March 16, 2014 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. Katherine was born in Manchester, Vermont on October 31, 1932 the daughter of Harold and Harriette (West) McEckron. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Burr & Burton Seminary class of 1950. Katherine worked as a waitress for the Quality and Mt. View Diner and for other area restaurants for over forty years. She could always be found on Saturdays and Sundays set up underneath the apple tree at Wessner's Flea Market. She enjoyed playing bingo, antiques, auctions and playing cards with her sisters. She enjoyed traveling to Maine, Atlantic City and Foxwoods and cherished times spent with her family. Katherine is survived by her husband Robert T. Leary, Sr. of East Dorset, whom she married in Manchester on April 1, 1967, her children Kenneth Dooley of Mechanicville, New York, Kevin Dooley of Manchester, Scott Dooley of Salem, New york, Brett Dooley of San Diego, California, Robert T. Leary, Jr, and his wife Tess of Dorset, Jackie Perry and her husband Ken of West Pawlet, Darcy Dooley-Morton of Arlington and Kurt Williams of Jamaica, Vermont, sister Charlotte Jones of East Arlington, fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Ann Dooley and siblings John, Fred, Raymond, George, Helene, Rose, Gladys, Marjorie, Harriette, Frances and Norma. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of life and graveside service will be held Saturday May, 3, 2014 at 11am in the family lot in Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester. A reception will follow at the Harned-Fowler VFW in Manchester. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Katherine's memory may be made to the Manchester Rescue Squad or the East Dorset Volunteer Fire Department c/o Brewster & Shea Funeral Service P.O.
