Kathleen "Kay" Squiers 1925 - 2011 CAMBRIDGE, NY Kathleen "Kay" A. Squiers, 86, a former resident of Cambridge, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT, where she had lived for a short time. Born Saturday, March 21, 1925, at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, she was the daughter of James and Anna (McDonnell) Murphy. She was a graduate of the Cambridge Union School, Class of 1944. Kathleen married James (Don) Squiers of Arlington, VT on June 2, 1946. They were married 54 years until his death in 2001. They raised their family in Cambridge. Kay worked for 26 years in the cafeteria of Cambridge Central School, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church; a member of Captain Maxson Legion Auxiliary #634 Unit; the Retired Public Employees Association; C.S.E.A. Retiree Chapter and the Cambridge Valley Senior Citizens. Her enjoyments included her beloved family, reading, traveling, flowers, plants and music. Survivors include two sons, Timothy Squiers and wife, Sharon, of Ballston Spa and Bruce Squiers of East Greenwich and former wife. Luci. of Binghamton; three grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew and Ashley Squiers; three step-granddaughters, Lisa and Angela Krauss and Joanne Pinheiro and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary (Murphy) Messenger and Joan (Murphy) Mulcahy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 4 to 7 PM at ACKLEY & ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge. An American Legion Auxiliary service will begin at 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Liam Condon on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 17 South Park Street, Cambridge. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Kay requested memorial donations be made to either St. Patrick's Church, or Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, P. O.
