Katie C. Keyes 1916-2012 MANCHESTER CENTER Katie C. Keyes, 96, a resident of Lorette Avenue in Manchester, passed away peacefully May 7, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Katie was born in Landgrove, Vt., on March 6, 1916 the daughter of the late Arthur and Elfie (Monroe) Crandall and attended school in Landgrove. Katie worked as a caregiver in the Manchester area until the age of eighty-one. She baked for the Mary Martha Fellowship at the First Baptist Church in Manchester for many years. She enjoyed fishing, making quilts and was an exceptional cook. She will always be remembered as a caring and nurturing person that loved her home and spending time with her family. Katie is survived by her children; Patrick Keyes and his wife Kathie of Danby, Francis Bush and his wife Christine of Florida, Thomas Bush and his wife Beverly and Jerome Bush of Montana, George Bush and his wife Alice of Middletown Spring, David Keyes and his wife Diane of East Dorset, Beverly Brown and her husband Roger of Danby, Doris Rukat and her husband Larry of Dorset and Mary Keyes of Manchester, thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-four great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Bush, her second husband Warren Keyes who passed away May 15, 1960, her sons Timothy, John and Warren and her daughter Jane Baker, her brothers; Horace, Clarence, Alvin, Henry, Wilbur and William Crandall and her sisters; Sarah Towsley, Christine Bushman, Pearl Welch, Lillian Ploof and Florence Capen. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Katie will be held Friday May 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Manchester. Rev. Steve Jewett will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours will be held Thursday May 10, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brewster Funeral service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, Vermont when the family will be in attendance. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Katie's memory may be made to Bennington Project Independence or Manchester Health Services, c/o Brewster Funeral Service P.O.
