WOODFORD -- Kenneth James Cutler, 57, a resident of Erbs Way, died on Tuesday morning, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Ken was born on Sept. 8, 1947 in Bennington, the son of Harold and Marion (Schaub) Cutler. He attended Bennington schools and was married to the former Kathleen M. Philpott in 1976.

In his earlier years, Ken had been employed at Bijur Manufacturing in Bennington. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and had served the church as an acolyte and usher. Ken enjoyed living on Woodford Mountain and especially cherished his family and spending holidays with family members. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen M. (Philpott) Cutler of Woodford, Ken is survived by his mother, Marion Cutler of Bennington; a son and his wife, Daniel J. and Shannon Cutler, and their daughter Taylor Cutler of Bennington; a daughter, Melissa Cutler of Bennington; three brothers, Robert H. Cutler, Richard A. Cutler and Thomas A. Cutler, and a sister, Kathleen M. Marcoux, all of Bennington; his mother and father-in-law, Pat and George Philpott of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; four sisters-in-law, Deborah Surdam, Colleen Wilwol, Carrie Garippa and Mary Somes; a brother-in-law, Matthew Philpott; nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog Sophie. In addition to his father Harold Cutler, Ken was predeceased by a brother, H. John Cutler.

The burial office and eucharistic service will be offered on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington with the Rev. Canon Robert J. Miner, interim rector, officiating. Following the service, friends are invited to join the Cutler family in the social hall of the church for a time of fellowship and refreshment. Interment will follow the fellowship gathering in the family lot at the Woodford Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
