Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- The burial office and eucharistic service for Kenneth James Cutler was offered on Thursday morning at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington. The Rev. Canon Robert J. Miner, interim rector, was the officiant, assisted by the Rev. Penny Hawkins. Music for the service was under the direction of Randall Krum, organist, who led the congregation in singing “The Strife is O’er”, “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus,” “On Eagles’ Wings” and “Amazing Grace.” Emily Kennedy served as crucifer and altar server. The first reading from the Book of Wisdom and second reading from II Corinthians were offered by Mike Hayes. The church ushers for the service were Donna Maroney and Ted Doucette.

Following the service, friends and family gathered in Saint Peter’s parish hall for a time of fellowship and refreshment. The interment service took place in the Cutler family lot at the Woodford Cemetery, with the Rev. Canon Miner and Rev. Hawkins offering the prayers of committal. Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Cutler, Matthew Philpott, Leo Surdam, Scott Garippa, Lance Somes and Don Wilwol. Among those attending the service and calling hours on Wednesday evening were a number of people from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, Bennington Potters and the former Bijur Manufacturing.

Ken Cutler, a resident of Erb’s Way in Woodford, died on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington at the age of 57.

Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.
