Kristine Lorette Obituary
Kristine M. Lorette

1966-2012 Kristine M. Lorette, 45, a resident of Arthur Drive, Bennington, went to eternal rest on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Bennington December 10, 1966, she was the daughter of Kenneth L. "Digger" Lorette and Lorraine (MacJarrett) Lorette. She received her education in Bennington and was a 1985 graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School. In 2012 Kristine graduated from the Quest Star Nursing School in Troy, N.Y.

An avid swimmer in earlier years, Kristine was a member of the Bennington Marauders Swim Team where she won many awards competitively. She also was very involved in working with special needs children in the swim program.

Over the years Kristine was employed at various local department stores, Stanley Tools and Chem Fab. Later in her life Kristine developed a passion for helping the elderly, attended nursing school and was employed on the nursing staff at Prospect Nursing Home until the time of her illness.

Kristine loved interior design and decorating. She gutted her new home and almost single handedly remodeled and decorated it. She also enjoyed making grapevine wreaths, collecting photos of sunsets over the ocean and traveling with her sister Kelly throughout the eastern Caribbean, to St. Thomas and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Survivors include her parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Lorette of Bennington, a sister and brother, Kelly M. Lorette and Kenneth "DJ" Lorette, both of Bennington; her precious cocker spaniel, Tessa-May; her paternal grandmother, Ruth Goodwin of North Bennington; her paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Edna Lorette of East Greenbush, N.Y.; a very special aunt, Laura "Aunt Tee Tee" MacJarrett of Bennington and a very special uncle, Gerald "Uncle G and Aunt Gail" MacJarrett of North Bennington and Uncle William and Sandra Lorette of North Bennington; several cousins and many, many friends.

At Kristine's request private committal services will be held at Hinsdillville Cemetery.

Should friends desire memorial contributions in Kristine M. Lorette's memory may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
