Larry E Lauzon 1949-2008 BENNINGTON Larry E Lauzon, 58, a resident of Chapel Road, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Bennington, Vermont July 30, 1949, he was the son of the late William E. and Mary Burkett Lauzon, he was educaed in the Bennington schools and was a 1967 graduate of Bennington High School. Larry first married the late Marilyn Landon on April 6, 1968 at St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Marilyn died April 22, 1999. He later married Michelle Renshaw Eldridge at the Coila Church in Colia, New York on March 10, 2001. Larry served as president of Lauzon Machine and Engineering Company in Bennington for many years following the retirement of his parents who founded the company in 1956. A member of Bennington Moose Lodge 1233, Larry was also a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to time spent with his grandchildren, Larry's favorite pastime was time spent at his camp in Glastenberry. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and bird watching. He was a fan of both the New York Yankees and NASCAR racing. He leaves his wife, Michelle Lauzon; three daughters, Sue Ann LaBeau and her husband, Todd, Julie Ellis and Donna Lauzon, all of Bennington; four grandchildren; three stepchildren, Dawn Merrills and her husband, Chris, of Jackson, N.Y., Robert Eldridge Jr. of S.C. and Mark Eldridge of Conn.; two sisters, Darlene Meyer of Sweetwater, Tenn. and Lorraine Thurber of Woodford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Geroge Orleman of the Coila Church officiating. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery, Should friends desire contributions in Larry Lauzon's memory may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Fund through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201. All members of the Bennington Moose lodge are asked to meet at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. to conduct services in memory of Larry Lauzon.
