FRANKLIN, N.C. -- Mrs. Laura (Morgan) Lanoue Benedetti, 78, of McClure Road, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 in Angel Medical Center in Franklin following a long illness.

She was a former resident of Bennington, Vt., and later Williamstown, Mass., and North Adams, Mass.

She was born in Franklin, Macon County, on July 8, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles Morgan and Bertha (Holland) Morgan. She was educated in North Carolina schools and moved to this area following her marriage .

Before her retirement, she was last employed with the North Adams State College, now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams.

Following her retirement, she moved back to North Carolina where she had lived for the past 20 years.

She was a member of The Lord’s House in Franklin.

Her first husband was Lawrence A. Lanoue, who died Oct. 11, 1981. They were married in Bennington in 1947.

Survivors include her husband, William G. Benedetti, whom she married on March 24, 1984, in North Adams; three daughters, Beverly Lanoue of Pittsford, N.Y., Diane Lanoue Law of West Springfield, Pa., and Theresa Langlois of Edneyville; one son, Ronald Lanoue of Fremont, Calif.; four stepsons, Michael Benedetti of Tyler, Texas, William James Benedetti of Moorehead City, Jeffrey Benedetti of Scarborough, Maine, and Keith Benedetti of Mashpee, Mass.; five grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral services for Laura (Morgan) Lanoue Benedetti will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals - West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams with the Rev. John Goyette, of the Green Mountain Christian Center, officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
