Lawrence F. Foster Sr. "Larry" 1938-2010 PETERSBURG, N.Y. Lawrence F. "Larry" Foster Sr. 72, passed away on Tuesday January 4 at his residence on William Jones Road in Petersburg. He resided there with his wife Patricia (Bindoni) Foster, who he married on April 29, 1961. Larry was born on June 26, 1938, in East Meadow, Long Island, son of the late George and Margaret (Lang) Foster. He attended schools in Long Island and served in the United States Army from 1961 - 1967. Larry was employed at Johnson Controls in Bennington, Vt., in the shipping and receiving department until retiring in 1994. He then worked at St. Mary's Academy in Hoosick Falls as the custodian for several years. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto racing and was a NY Yankee fan. He was a member of the Congregational Church in North Pownal, VT. Survivors include his wife Patricia, sons Rev. Larry F. Foster Jr. of Hoosick Falls and Scott (Bridget) Foster of Petersburg, N.Y., grandchildren Bradley and Ashley Foster of Petersburg, N.Y., Ryan and Aaron Foster of Lisbon, Conn., sisters Louise Peterson (Robert) of Fairport, N.Y., Alice Bergin of Walker Valley, N.Y. and Charlotte Sperling of Mastic Beach, N.Y. Larry is predeceased by two brothers George and Joseph "Butch" Foster. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Friday January 7, at 10 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery in Hoosick, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of North Pownal through the funeral home.
