Lee M. Goldsmith 1983 - 2009 BENNINGTON Lee M. Goldsmith, 25, a resident of Burlington, Vt., died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the home of his parents, Michael and Susan Goldsmith of Bennington, following a three year battle with Melanoma. He was born in Bennington, Vt., Nov. 11, 1983. Lee received his elementary education at Molly Stark School, Mount Anthony Middle School and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School class of 2002. He then attended Northeastern University, later transferring to Syracuse University where he was a 2007 graduate of the Environmental Science and Forestry Program. Lee was employed as an engineer at ESPC Engineering and Environmental Consulting in Williston, Vt. While in high school Lee was a member of the Mount Anthony Union High School soccer, track and lacrosse teams. He also enjoyed playing golf, skiing, snow shoeing, shooting and baseball. He was a member of a number of clubs including the National Honor Society, Student Senate and Scholars Bowl. Lee loved life and times spent at the family camp in Sunderland which he helped build with his father. The love of his life was his girlfriend Lindsey Stair. Lee loved animals especially his cat "Job". He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Manchester United and English cricket. He leaves; Lindsey Stair of Burlington; his parents; Michael and Susan Goldsmith of Bennington, two sisters; Julia and Abby Goldsmith both of Bennington, a nephew; Aidan Dommke of Bennington, his paternal grandmother; Josephine Goldsmith of England and many aunts, uncles and cousins in England. He was pre-deceased by a sister Elizabeth Goldsmith who died in 1979. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from Saint Peters Episcopal Church on Saturday March 14, 2009 at 5 p.m. with Mother Anita Schell Lambert, Rector, officiating. The burial will take place in the family lot at the White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Lee may be made to either the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center or the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
