BENNINGTON -- Lena Levia (Cesaro) Butera, 90, a resident of the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, died Thursday afternoon, April 5, 2007, following a long illness.

She was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on April 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Dominic and Sandella (Cappello) Cesaro. She was educated in Schenectady schools.

On April 8, 1941, she married Eldo Butera in Schenectady. Mr. Butera died on Jan. 4, 2005.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Schenectady, where she was an original member of St. Theresa Guild.

Mrs. Butera is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Judith Berry and Raymond of Bennington, and two grandsons, Jeffrey Berry of Bennington and Scott Berry of Virginia. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; a brother, Jim Cesaro of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Ann Sayles of Scotia, N.Y.; along with nieces and nephews.

Lena was predeceased by a sister, Louise Rosetti and a brother Joseph Cesaro.

Her family was her main interest and she enjoyed cooking.

Transfer will take place from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home to the De Legge Funeral Home in Schenectady.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9, at the De Legge Funeral Home, 1346 Chrisler Ave., Schenectady, at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in the family lot in St. John The Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.

There are no calling hours.
