Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Lennora “Leni’ Stone were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2005, where the Mass of resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent C. Coppolla, associate pastor.

Organist and soloist was Don McMahon. Hymns offered during the service were “Lord, You Have Come To the Seashore,” “Tambourin sur un Noel,” “Sleepers Wake! A Voice Is Calling,” “Let There Be Bread” and “Sing To the Mountains.”

The pall that draped Leni’s casket during the funeral Mass was placed by her children, Michael and Rebecca Stone; a granddaughter, Natalie Stone; and a niece, Katie Vandale. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by her husband, John R. Stone III.

The scriptural readings were offered by family friends, Emily Kennedy and Meghan LeBlanc. The offertory gifts were presented by John, Michael and Rebecca Stone and Leni’s brother, Keith VanDale. Acolytes were Edward Molloy, Leonard Anzivino, Joseph Anton and Francis Sausville.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass. Prior to the prayer, the song “Even Than” was requested by Mary Ann Lothian and played in Leni’s memory. Bearers were Edgar Holden, Steven Gangloff, Brian Maroney, Brian Maroney Jr., Kyle Maroney and Gary Mattison.

Tuesday evening the wake service was offered at the funeral home by the Rev. James Preskenis, pastor of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales. The poem “Gods Beautiful Garden” was recited by Rebecca Stone during the visiting hours.

Burial took place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Copploa offering the committal prayers. A reception for family and friends was held at the Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales parish center.

Lenni Stone, a resident of Imperial Avenue, died Jan. 9, 2006, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
