Obituary Condolences

POWNAL -- Leo H. Pellerin, 78, a resident of North Pownal Road, Pownal, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.

Born in Bennington Feb. 22, 1925 he was the son of the late Adelord and Irene (Paulkus) Pellerin. He received his education in the Bennington schools. Mr. Pellerin was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1942 until 1945.

Mr. Pellerin married the former Virginia Sweet on May 5, 1947 at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington. In earlier years he was employed at Cushman Furniture, Bennington College and Pownal Elementary School.

Mr. Pellerin was a life member of both American Legion Post 90 in Pownal and VFW Post 1332 in Bennington.

Survivors include his wife Virginia Pellerin of Pownal; a daughter, Elizabeth Pellerin of Pownal; three grandchildren, Ruby, Gus and Max Guillen; two sisters, Elizabeth Golding of Worcester, N.Y. and Louise Cardonnay of Bennington and a brother, Edward Pellerin of Bennington.

Graveside committal services will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal at 3 p.m. with Rev. John Foster, chaplain of the Vermont Veterans Home, officiating.
