Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Leonard J. Corriveau were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church Saturday Oct. 8, 2005, where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. James Preskenis, c.s.c. pastor.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the mass were “Here I Am Lord,” “Song of Farewell,” “Ave Maria,” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

The pall that draped Mr. Corriveau’s casket was placed by his daughter Susan Langlois and his grandson Derrick Coyne. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Mr. Corriveau’s wife Simone. The scriptural readings were offered by a nephew Robert Corriveau and Leonard Anzivino. The offertory gifts were presented by Leonard’s nieces, Pauline Andrews, Louise Robinson and Rachel Lauzon.

Bearers were six nephews William Robinson, James Robinson, Reni Corriveau, Alan Andrews, Scott Andrews and John Andrews. Serving as acolytes were Leonard Anzivino, Francis Sausville, James Kempf and Joseph Anton.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral mass. Following the prayer Alain Turcotte read Psalm 23 in French.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Preskenis offering the committal prayers.

Military Taps were sounded by Susan Green. The American Flag was folded by Ralph Brown and Joseph Krawczyk and presented to Mrs. Simone Corriveau.

A reception followed the service at the American Legion Post 13 in Bennington.

Mr. Leonard J. Corriveau, a resident of Safford Street in Bennington, died Wednesday Oct. 5, 2005 in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
