Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Leonard J. “Lenny” Sheridan Jr. were held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21, 2007. Conducting the service was the Rev. John Mitchell, pastor of Zion Episcopal Church of Manchester. The Rev. Mitchell read personal reflections and memories compiled by Lenny’s sister, Linda Mattison. Following the message the song of reflection was “One Wing in the Fire” by Trent Tomlinson, the song following the eulogy was “How Do I Live” by LeAnn Rimes.

Other special musical selections included “Best I Ever Had,” by Gary Allen from his wife Lisa to Lenny and “A Friend To Me,” by Garth Brooks from Lenny to Jonny P.

The congregation joined in the recitation of the “Lord’s Prayer,” the Rev. Mitchell recited the word’s to “The Old Rugged Cross” as inspiration. The service concluded with “Go Rest High on The Mountain,” by Vince Gill.

Burial followed in the Sheridan family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls with the Rev. Mitchell offering the committal prayers. Serving as bearers were Larry Sheridan Sr., Larry Sheridan Jr., Jon Peat, Perry Mattison, Roy McDermott, Dustin Sherman and Charles Kier.

A time of fellowship and refreshment took place in the parlor of the funeral home.

Leonard Sheridan Jr., 47, a resident of East Road, died on April 19 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical center following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
