Leonard R. Ormsbee 1939 - 2012 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Leonard R. Ormsbee, 72, beloved husband of Patricia E. (Bounds) Ormsbee, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord, at home on Sunday morning, March 25th at 6:00 am.with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 19, 1939, in South Bethlehem, NY, to Winfield S. and Anna (Goetz) Ormsbee. Len attended schools in Bethlehem and Cambridge Central School. He and Pat have been married for 51 years and resided in Hoosick Falls most of their lives. Len was a past member of the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad and Eagle Bridge Methodist Church. He had a passion for camping, deep sea fishing, long walks up in the woods, spending time with his family and friends. Len spent his last 11 years fulfilling his lifelong dream traveling and volunteering in National Forrest and National Park Campgrounds, across the United States, with his wife and faithful companion Ziggy. Len and Pat participated in many square dances. Besides his wife, Pat, Len is survived by five daughters, Denise James (Dave), Carole Christian (Sean) all of Hoosick Falls, Joyce Elliott (Mike) of Bradford, NH, Ruth Lee of Hoosick Falls, Kimberly Hall of Pine Bluff, NC, two brothers Clyde R. Ormsbee (Mary Ruth) of Texas, Alan "Butch" R. Ormsbee (Fran) of Bernard Bay, NY; also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by two brothers, John R. and Winfield R. Ormsbee, sister Carrie R. Frisbee and son-in-law Dale E. Lee. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Thursday March 29 at 10:00 am from the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rensselaer County Community Hospice through the funeral home.
