LeRoy F. "Satch" Cyphers III

1932 - 2015 LATHAM N.Y. LeRoy F. "Satch" Cyphers III, 82, husband of Jeanette (Ennis) Cyphers, a resident of Florence Drive, passed away in his wife's arms on Wednesday, March 18, at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, N.Y. following a long illness. Born in Montclair, N.J., Oct. 5, 1932, he was the son of the late LeRoy and Jean M. (Rutherford) Cyphers, Jr. He received his education in New Jersey and was a 1950 graduate of Clifford J. Scott High School in East Orange, N.J. He later attended Upsaw College in East Orange. Jeanette and Roy were married May 19, 1984 in Hoosick, N.Y. Roy was employed at Holmes Transportation for thirty-four years in New Jersey and Vermont. He later worked as a maintenance supervisor at American Airlines for 12 years then at Northeast Acura in Latham for 13 years. Roy was a life member of Bennington Elks Lodge 567. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Cyphers, of Latham; two sons, Mitchell (Judy) Burke of Uxbridge, Mass., and Timothy (Jo-Ann) Burke of Bennington; four daughters, Pamela (Dana) Sennett of Waterville, Maine, Gail (George) Crowley, Alice ( William) Perry and Kathy (Jim Roberts) Cook, all of Bennington; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy was predeceased by a brother, Calvin Cyphers. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR SON FUNERAL HOME Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery.
