LeRoy L. Goodine 1922 - 2008 WATERVILLE LeRoy L. Goodine, 86, of Oak Grove Rehabilitation Center in Waterville passed away on June 29, 2008, following long-term complications from a stroke. Born on Jan. 7, 1922, in Kingsclear, New Brunswick, son of Eldon and Lottie Davis Goodine, he lived most of his life in Shawmut. He served with the Navy in World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Goodine was a founder of Elm City Photo in 1946 and retired from Keyes Fibre after 46 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 92 in Fairfield. He had a long history of civic duty, including eight years on the Fairfield Town Council. In later years he enjoyed loon watching, genealogy, and computer instruction. He and his wife divided their retirement between Zephyrhills, Fla., and their cottage in Hartland. He leaves his wife of 67 years, the former Dorothy L. Goodhue, whom he married in 1941; a daughter Linda Johnson of Shaftsbury; son, James Goodine and his wife, Gliselia, of Bennington; son, John Goodine and his wife, Celine, of Fairfield Center; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Kenneth Goodine of Winslow. He was especially fond of the staff at Oak Grove. MEMORIAL NOTICE: There will be a celebration of life from 4 to 7 p.m. on July 25 at the Fairfield Veterans of Foreign Wars.
