Leverett M. Le Barron 1909-2010 HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. Leverett M. Le Barron 100, passed away on Monday August 23 at his residence on Le Barron Road surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Prentiss) Le Barron who died in 1974. Leverett was born on Le Baron Road on December 10, 1909, son of the late Earnest and Nora (O'Neil) Le Barron. He attended schools in Potter Hill, N.Y. Leverett worked for Rensselaer County Highway Department as a equipment operator, retiring in 1972. Leverett was a member of the Moose Club in Bennington, Vt., Hoosick Grange, Derby Club and a charter member of the Eagles Arie # 2467 both in Hoosick Falls. Survivors include his daughters, Lorraine Surdam of Hoosick Falls, N.Y. and Beverly Cummings (Robert) of Green Valley, Arizona, a son, Edward Le Barron (Uma) of Clifton Park, N.Y., also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Susan (Surdam) Sousie husband, Nick of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Joanne (Surdam) Godkin husband, Warren of West Hoosick, N.Y., Richard Surdam (Linda) of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Sandra (Surdam) Metcalf husband Dwayne of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Sharon (Surdam)Barber husband, Donald of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Glenn Rifenburg wife, Kathy of Valley Falls, N.Y., Donn Rifenburg wife, Karen of North Creek, N.Y., David Rifenburg wife, Karen of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Robert Cummings wife, Robyn of Billings, Montana Todd Cummings wife, Pamela of Huntington, Vt., Jason Cummings wife, Tracy of Hinesburg, Vt., Beverly Le Barron, Commerce, Texas, Donna Johns of Colara, Oklahoma, also many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Leverett is predeceased by a son Richard Le Barron, a daughter, Marjorie Rifenburg, six sisters and three brothers. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Friday August 27, 11 a.m. from the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Hoosick Rural Cemetery, Hoosick, N.Y. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Rensselaer County Community Hospice or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
