Obituary Condolences

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Mrs. Lila R. (Baker) Gregory of Mohawk Forest Boulevard, died early Sunday morning at Sweet Brook Care Center.

She was born in Dorset on July 14, 1923, a daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Lanfear) Baker. She attended schools in Vermont.

Mrs. Gregory worked for 17 years as a nurse’s aide at North Adams Regional Hospital.

She was a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary, North Adams, and enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo.

She is survived by two sons, James W. Gregory Jr. of Florida and Craig A. Gregory of North Adams; two daughters, Nancy Houran of Bennington, Vt., and Sandra Bicksler of Port Orange, Fla.; five sisters, Ruth Kenyon of Scotia, N.Y., Shirley Holland of Hebrin, Conn., Phyllis Barbeau of North Adams and Jane Green and Virginia Miller, both of Manchester Center, Vt.; six grandchildren, Bobby and Paula Houran of Bennington, Tracy Bicksler of Madison, Ala., Dawn Faust of Huntsville, Ala., Nathan Gregory of Florida, Mass., and Joel Gregory of North Adams; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Faust of Huntsville, Ala., and Jazmin Gregory of North Adams; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Ted, Ruffis, Fred and Ira Baker; and four sisters, Emma Carangio, Mary Greene, Elizabeth Perry and Patricia Sherman.

Funeral services will be private for the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
