Lillian L. Baker

1918-2010 DORSET, VT Lillian L. Baker, 92, of Dorset, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother, passed away May 2, 2010, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in East Rupert, Vt., on Jan. 22, 1918, the daughter of Myrtle and Eugene Reed, Mrs. Baker spent many years cleaning the Dorset Library and the homes of numerous residents of the Dorset area.

She loved gardening and tending to her plants and had a "green thumb." She was also known for her exceptional cooking, beautiful quilts, and her generous care taking. She especially loved spending time with her family, and she truly touched the hearts of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Mrs. Baker was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, David Baker Sr.; two sons, Clyde A. Baker Sr. and Glenn D. Baker.

She leaves her daughter and her husband, Jessie Baker and Ron Felion, both of Dorset; two step-children, Madeline Bullock of Wells, Vt., and David Baker Jr. of Castleton, Vt., whom she raised. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great great- grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her devoted dog, Toby.

MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place, Manchester, VT. Reverend Paul Mychack will officiate. Graveside services will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset.
