HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Lillian H. Eldred Michie, 82, of Eagle Street, died on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Potter Hill on June 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George and Edna O’Dell Eldred. Lillian was the loving wife of Harry L. Michie, whom she married on Oct. 14, 1950, in the former First Presbyterian Church on Church Street. Mrs. Michie was a lifelong resident of the Hoosick area and a 1940 graduate of the Walter A. Wood High School.

In her younger years, Lillian worked at Montgomery Wards in Menands and Noble Woods in Hoosick Falls. She was a teacher’s aide at the Hoosick Falls Central School for 23 years, with 10 of those years in special education. She retired in 1987. Mrs. Michie was a member of the First United Church Presbyterian of Hoosick Falls where she belonged to the “TC Class.” She was also a member of the Hoosick Grange.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Harry; her son Robert G. Michie, his wife Carol and their daughter Megan, all of Rhinebeck; a brother, Kenneth Eldred of Potter Hill; a sister, Jessie Hewitt of Petersburgh; nieces and nephews, her namesake Lilly E. Hewitt, Gary H. Hewitt, Faye Mihuta, June Horton, Janice Eldred, Jean Esposito, James Eldred, John Eldred, Kenneth Eldred Jr.; along with many loving extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First United Church Presbyterian of Hoosick Falls on Main Street where the Rev. David McMillan will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. A calling time will precede the service starting at 10 a.m.
