Lillian Ethel Hess Hall 1915-2010 ARLINGTON Lillian Ethel Hall, 94, a long time resident of Munn Terrace, and more recently of the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, died Monday afternoon, September 27th, 2010, surrounded by her family at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Lillian was born November 15th, 1915 in Cuttingsville, Vermont. She was the daughter of Henry and Julia (Royce) Hess and was one of 11 children. Lillian was raised in the Arlington area and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary in 1935. Lillian was married to Henry Willson Hall in 1937 and they were married over 50 years prior Henry?s passing in 1988. Lillian was one of the original members of the Arlington American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years, Lillian worked cleaning for several businesses and families in the Arlington area. Lillian loved to cater to her family, cook, travel, gardening, bird watching, picking strawberries and especially long rides in the country with Henry. Lillian and Henry were the host to many backyard basketball games for the neighborhood kids while her sons Bill and Frank were growing up. Lillian is survived by two sons, Frank Hall and wife Kathy and William (Bill) Hall and wife Rebecca of Lugoff, S.C., and five grandchildren, Willy and wife Jennifer of Bennington, Vt., Craig and wife Julia of Albany, N.Y., James of Dallas, Texas, Adam of Seattle, Wa., and Eric of St. Charles, Ill., and four great-grand children, Cole, Caden, Emilia and Sienna. FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of the life of Lillian E. Hall will be held Thursday morning September 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the HANSON WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME Arlington, VT Chapel. Rev. John Mitchell of Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester will conduct the service. Friends may start calling at the Funeral home at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Lillian will be buried in the West Arlington Cemetery immediately following the funeral services. If friends desire, memorial contributions in Lillian's memory may be made to the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center c/o Hanson Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 528 Arlington, VT 05250.
