1915 - 2014 BENNINGTON Lillian O. (Lindley) Kelloway, 98, of Bennington, formerly of Newburyport, Mass., and Georgetown, Mass., passed away July 9, 2014, in Vermont. Lillian was born Aug. 21, 1915 in Orleans, Ind., the daughter of Mirt and Amy (Gahan) Lindley. Lillian worked side-by-side with her husband of 70 years, managing the bookkeeping for Kelloway's Dairy in Georgetown under the slogan "You can whip our cream, but you can't beat our milk." The dairy was in operation for 35 years and, together, Lillian and Ross became an enduring force of goodwill in their community, and beyond. Always an active member of the Georgetown Congregational Church, Lillian regularly provided flowers for the altar and served on the Women's Guild. Lillian was also a long-time member of The Rebecca Lodge. She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew Ross Kelloway, and by her son, Matthew Ross "Mark" Kelloway Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia L. (Kelloway) Hindle of Shelburne, Amy E.(Kelloway) Tronsen of Bennington, and Jane L. Kelloway of Amesbury, Mass. Lillian was affectionately known as Nana to 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Gladys Fife, Lloyd Gilbert, and James Lindley, and sister-in-law to Albert Kelloway and Ernest Kelloway of Georgetown, Mass. A matriarch of the highest order, she had been a source of undying support, grace, and love for all who had the good fortune to know her. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial in her honor was on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Georgetown, Mass. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the , P.O.
