Lillian M. Bump


BRADFORD -- Lillian M. Bump, 85, a longtime resident of Bradford, died on Monday. March 10, 2003, following a long illness. She was born in Bennington on May 26, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Gladys Hackney (Stratton) and Edward Harvey. She attended local schools and her family was her main interest.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Elijah Bump, who died Feb. 26, 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Joan B. Hoyt and her husband Thomas T. Hoyt of North Bennington and Janice L. Bourn of Bennington, five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and one brother, Chester Harvey of North Bennington.

No calling hours are scheduled. A family service will be held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12, in Bennington. The Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate and committal services will immediately follow in the Bump lot in the Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
