Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian M. Harrington were held on Friday morning, October 21, 2005, at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church, officiating.

The hymn “Amazing Grace” was sung by a granddaughter Ms. Elisha Harrington. “Go Rest High On That Mountain” was offered by Vince Gill.

Eulogies were offered by her son, Charles Harrington, and two granddaughters, Debbie Kennedy and Margaret Phelps. Her son-in-law Robert Nolan read the Beatitudes, the 23rd Psalm and the poem “God’s Garden Must Be Beautiful.”

Interment followed in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery where the Rev. Estey offered the words of committal.

Pallbearers for the services included Lillian’s grandsons, David Mattison, Peter Nolan, Ken Harris, Owen Harrington, Gary Ward and Jason Harrington.

Mrs. Lillian M. Harrington, 97, a resident of Twitchell Hill in Shaftsbury died on Tuesday Oct. 18, 2005 following a brief illness.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
