NORTH ADAMS, Mass.-- Lillian May (Rondeau) Wiles, 89, of 61 Foucher Ave., North Adams, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown.

She was born in the Blackinton section of North Adams on Dec. 15, 1917, daughter of the late Albert Rondeau and Eudocha (Holland) Rondeau.

She attended schools in North Adams, including the former Archer School and Drury High School, graduating with the class of 1935.

She assisted her husband with cooking at the Psi Upsilon Fraternity at Williams College where he was a chef. She was primariliy a homemaker and a devoted mother.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Incarnation Church in the Blackinton section of North Adams. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary 996 in North Adams and the local Northern Berkshire and “NOBESOVE” Southern Vermont Camping Associations and the C-B Radio Club. Her handle was “Battle Ax”

She is the widow of George Tevelyn Wiles. They were married on Feb. 12, 1937, and he died Oct. 30, 1990.

Survivors include three daughters, Joann Gaffey of North Adams, Georgia Rand of North Adams, and Jacqueline Mason of Pownal, Vt.; two sons, William Tevelyn Wiles of Marlton, N.J., and Franklin Albert Wiles, with whom she made her home; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Rondeau of North Adams; and one sister, Vivian Dale of Adams. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers, Eudocha Richard, Jean Purdy, Andrew Rondeau and G. Nelson Rondeau and one grea-grandson, Nathan Sherman.
