MESA, Ariz. -- Linda Jean Lever Knapp, 52, a former resident of Bennington, Vt., died of cancer on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Hospice In The Valley, in Mesa, Ariz., following a short illness.

Linda was born in Bennington on March 20, 1951. She was the daughter of Donald Lever and Diane (Foucher) Kobel. She received her education in Bennington area schools. Linda was employed at Union Carbide in Bennington from 1969 to 1974. She moved to Iowa in 1975 and then to Arizona in 1981.

Survivors include her father, Donald Lever of Showlow; her mother, Diane Kobel of Mesa; her daughter and son-in-law, Veronica L. and Dwane O. Patterson of Chino Valley; her son, Arthur Ray Satler, III (Max) of Mesa; five sisters, Donna Hartman of Burlington, Iowa; Vanessa Stitt of Mesa, Roxanne Davis of Tempe; Vicki Porter of Showlow and Melissa Lever of Mesa; two brothers, Donald Lever and Michael Lever, both of Mesa.

Linda is also survived by two grandchildren, Kaitlynn J. Patterson of Chino Valley and Sirus Lee Ray Satler of Prescott Valley.

She was predeceased by a son, Francis Patrick Knapp Jr., in September of 1969.
