Lloyd Gordon Wright Sr. 1948-2010 POWNAL Lloyd Gordon Wright, Sr. age 62, a resident of Jackson Cross Road in Pownal died on Thursday, December 9, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Bennington on January 28, 1948 and was the son of the late Winfred and Marion (Green) Wright. He received his education in local schools. Lloyd was employed by the William E. Dailey Company for many years as a truck driver. He enjoyed his motorcycles and old cars. He would always offer a helping hand to anyone. Lloyd was a prankster and story teller. He loved birds, especially parrots and cockatoos. Lloyd was an avid listener of CB radios and scanners. He loved taking long drives and traveling. He loved spending time with his family, especially those grandchildren. Lloyd is survived by two sons and their wives: Joseph and Sarah Wright of Arlington, Vt. and Lloyd and Tammy Wright, Jr. of Bennington. He leaves his fiancé, Margaret Tobin of Pownal. Lloyd has two grandsons; Steven and Matthew Wright. He has one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Niles from White Creek, N.Y., Joann Cimon, the mother of his grandsons. Other survivors include: Margaret Tobin's children; Anne Tobin, Margaret Tobin, Lynda and Gary LaPlante, and Robin and Ron Field. Margaret Tobin's, grandchildren including Jaskia Tobin, who had been one of Lloyd's caregivers. His close friends; Jimmy Lane, Rick Leonard, Chet Parker and Tony Labaron. Lloyd's special companion, Molly, his Golden Retriever. Lloyd is predeceased by his wife Lulu who died in August 2001 and a son, Lloyd who died in infancy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening, December 15, at 7 p.m. at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, in Bennington with Pastor Gary Dickson, officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the support of the family to Ms. Margaret Tobin, through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
